About Maurice

Connecting people, plans and performance.

I operate at the intersection of strategy, leadership and organisational execution, helping leadership teams create the conditions for progress.

I am drawn to organisations with ambition, complexity and something important to get done.
— Maurice Elema

I excel where strategy, leadership and organisational execution meet. Over more than twenty years, I have partnered with leadership teams in global and EMEA organisations to strengthen the conditions for execution: clearer priorities, stronger governance, better decision support and organisational capability. Most of that time was spent inside two organisations, not moving between them: global Strategy & Operations leadership at Salesforce, and before that more than a decade at Canon Europe across B2B markets, European sales management and major IT transformation programmes. I stayed because the work was rarely finished in a single push, and I'm the kind of person who stays until it is. I can consult, but get more energy from delivering until the impact is achieved.

Outside work, I'd love to sail. Weather doesn't ask permission, and neither does a transformation programme in year three: you tack when the wind turns, hold course when it doesn't, and either way you don't leave the people on board. That's roughly how I lead, too. Steady at my course, adapting to conditions, true to my crew.

I'm a family man first. My wife and children come before everything, and our dog keeps all of us honest. I'm loyal by nature to family, to friends, to the organisations I commit to, and I'd rather be involved than keep my distance. I also genuinely enjoy life: a great meal, reading or watching a thriller, playing strategic boardgames. It won't come as a surprise that I love solving puzzles at home and at work.

I'm a steady hand, but steady isn't the same as still. I bring real passion to moving organisations forward, with deep knowledge of the work, with drive, and with the conviction that ambition only means something when you make it real together.

How I contribute

I am not a consultant. I help create, embed and enforce the conditions that allow organisations to achieve goals and ambitions.

01

See the whole

Connect strategy, organisation, people and performance, rather than treating them as separate problems.

02

Make choices clear

Bring the relevant perspectives, information and trade-offs into view so decisions can move.

03

Build the rhythm

Create practical governance, routines and ownership that turn decisions into coordinated action.

04

Stay with execution

Keep attention on what changes next, learn from what happens and maintain momentum.

Let's connect

Growth will not wait for the organisation to catch up.

If you can feel a gap opening between ambition and execution, it is worth addressing before it becomes expensive.
